For our exclusive client headquartered in Lugano, a multi-dimensional investment platform empowering creative talent and entrepreneurs from Europe and MENA, we are recruiting the following profile:
FINANCE DIRECTOR / LUGANO
Reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for the financial controls within the Group companies and reports to their shareholders, supporting the finance function within the minority portfolio companies and leading the setup of the finance function for controlled entities, also overseeing all the operational and administrative requirements for a smooth running of the Lugano and Milano offices of the company.
Duties and Responsabilities:
Internal Accounting and Reporting:
- Preparing the financial statements, partnering with internal and third-party resources
- Budgeting or coordinating budgeting for all business units; monitoring financial performing vs budget; reporting
- Group consolidation; Controlling the cash flow and its allocation to the right entity
- In charge of corporate governance, filling requirements, tax, audit, banks
- With the CEO and the Group CFO, assessment of internal and external resources to determine whether the accounting function should be taken in house and at which level (Switzerland, Italy) and resourcing the needs accordingly (people and systems)
Portfolio company support:
- Establish portfolio company reporting templates and receive their reporting on a regular basis
- Ensure data integrity for information received from portfolio companies, support multi-channel reporting and establishment of reporting dashboards, KPIs and review them on a regular basis
- Mentor portfolio company FDs;
- Supervise any accounting system and ERP implementation and integrations from an operational standpoint
- Review any feasibility analysis for expansion into other territories, store openings, or any significant investments
Operational Leadership:
- Supervision of local administrative issues to ensure smooth running of the offices in Lugano and Milano
- Supervision of payroll and other HR related issues
- Ensuring adequate levels of insurance are in place and the spaces are health and safety compliant
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledges, and experience:
- At least 8 years of experience, with knowledge as finance director or senior financial controller
- Demonstrated experience in luxury, fashion or FMCG
- Excellent command of English and Italian
- Prior exposure to M&A and acquisitions, either as part of the transactional team or integration team is a plus
- Experience in accounting system, ERP system selections and implementation are a plus
- To complete the profile, the ideal candidate should be flexible, positive-communicator and be openness to travel
