Duties and Responsabilities:

  • Provide legal support in the area of Compliance, taking care under the direct supervision of the GC, in particular but not limited to, the due diligence and compliance processes, organisation of committee meetings and any other meeting or event linked to the Compliance and Ethics Committee. Drafting of any required communication or documentation (e.g. meeting minutes, presentations as well as pre-/post-meeting communication, training material, legal memos, etc.).
  • Day to day administrative and operational handling of the Compliance and DOI related processes: DOI platform, due diligence review process and any other Compliance related processes, monitoring and taking care of the DOI mailing inbox; ensure adherence to the DOI Policy, statutory laws and regulations and identify proactively; improvements to enhance the process and platform.
  • Preparing and drafting internal training material and content of presentations.
  • Provide support to GC with various legal projects, advising and supporting the society in legal national and international matters, in particular but not limited to procedural contract, data protection law, corporate, commercial, Intellectual Property Right law;
  • Reviewing, drafting, co-negotiating legal documents (e.g. contracts, NDA’s, meeting minutes, legal memos, etc.).
  • Supporting GC with the implementation of legal and regulatory requirements and monitoring overall compliance with applicable statutory law and regulations.
  • Investigate facts and perform thorough legal research on different areas of interest.
  • Provide support in identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and in implementing measures to mitigate potential legal or reputational risks.
  • Assess company adherence to regulatory and compliance standards as well as the corresponding organisation measures.
  • Support monitoring the status of significant regulatory or compliance matters.
  • Create and maintain a legal and contract database.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledges and experience:

  • Advanced Swiss Law degree required (Master of Law), any additional post-graduate education is a strong asset
  • 1-2 years of post-qualification professional experience, gained either with a Swiss law firm or within the legal department of a company or institution, ideally exposure to international legal context
  • Broad legal knowledge (e.g. corporate, contract and commercial law, IPR)
  • Excellent command of the English language is required. Good knowledge of German or French are an asset. Italian or any other languages is a plus
  • Strong interest in compliance matters
