Employment Information

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Buyer  to support procurement activities within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships in line with project objectives and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of procurement plans and strategies tailored to project needs.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Analyze supplier offers and prepare comparative and evaluation reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring clarity and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procurement regulations.
  • Conduct market research for subcontractors and general supply sources.
  • Prepare comparative tables and pricing analyses.
  • Critically assess received offers to ensure they meet technical and commercial requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with project budgets.
  • Draft detailed reports and collaborate closely with project teams to align procurement with project timelines and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within Swiss construction projects.
  • Educational background as a Surveyor (Geometra) or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • Previous experience working for general contractors.
  • Knowledge of the Swiss construction market is considered a strong asset.
  • Native Italian speaker with excellent command of English (knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage).
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and SAP MM.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
